The Learjet 85 is the latest Learjet program by aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. Launched on October 30, 2007, the Learjet 85 is set to be positioned between the midsize and the super midsize segments. The Learjet 85 will be the first Bombardier Aerospace jet to feature an all-composite structure and will be the first all-composite structure business jet designed for type certification under FAR Part 25.

This new Learjet aircraft is set to deliver extraordinary performances. Targeting a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.82, the clean-sheet Learjet aircraft will offer its passengers a transcontinental range of up to 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km).

The development program of this all-new jet is still in progression and is expected to be unveiled in Q1 2009.

Bombardier reports it has close to 60 Learjet 85s on order at a price of $17.2 million (2008 dollars)
